These Highland Lakes athletes made a name for themselves while they competed in high school sports.

Now they are doing the same for their sport and respective universities.

Brayden Hill, Burnet class of 2023, is the Southland Conference pole vault champion. He and his Stephen F. Austin teammates won all four medals at the conference’s outdoor event May 15.

Kason O’Riley, Marble Falls class of 2021, set a new personal best in the high jump at 7 feet and 4.5 inches while competing for Texas State University.

Augustus (Gus) Henry, Faith Academy of Marble Fall class of 2021, set a new personal record in the javelin with a mark of 226.706 feet en route to winning the AAC championship in the event while competing for Rice University. Henry has battled injuries throughout his time at Rice.

Kimble Schuessler, Llano class of 2020, gave the Texas Longhorns baseball team the lead 4-3 in the eighth inning against the Oklahoma Sooners to help the Longhorns win Southeastern Conference regular season championship.
