Highland Lakes area high school teams are announcing decisions for contests scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 27.

Though Burnet Consolidated Independent School District canceled another day of school set for Wednesday, Jan. 28, the basketball and soccer programs are set to play district games that afternoon.

That means the boys basketball team will welcome Georgetown Gateway at 5:30 p.m. to The Doghouse and the Lady Dawgs will travel to Marble Falls for a 5 p.m. tipoff.

The girls soccer team will host Lago Vista at Bulldog Field at 4:30 p.m. in a varsity only match, while the boys soccer team will play at Lago Vista at Lago Vista Stadium at 5 p.m.

These games are varsity only.

Only one sport kept the same date but moved up starting times.

The Llano High School varsity basketball teams played at Brady Tuesday, Jan. 27. The Lady Jackets crushed the Lady Bulldogs 46-22 and the Yellow Jackets lost to the Bulldogs 62-51. Contests were played about two hours earlier than originally scheduled.

Officials at the other school districts announced moving district contests to Wednesday, Jan. 28.

For some sports, such as basketball, those squads are looking to either solidify their placement in the district standings or trying to get back in the race.

For other sports, such as soccer, this week serves as an opportunity to keep playing well or begin district play the right way.
