Three Marble Falls High School runners competed at the Southlake XC Invite Sept. 7.
Senior Tyler Hamblin finished 21st in 15 minutes and 38.30 seconds, which set a new personal record by six seconds.
“It was crowded in the boys race,” head coach Brenda Gonzalez said. “Overall he ran a good race.”
Freshman Graham Goggans set a new personal record by 1:04 thanks to finishing in 17:25.10 for 184th.
Gonzalez noted he is in track shape for the 800 and 1,600 meters.
“He’s getting into (cross country) shape at the right time,” she said. “It was a good race for him, good experience.”
Sophomore Owen Martin set a new personal record by four seconds, finishing in 17:48.60 for 201st.
Gonzalez said Martin was disappointed with his performance. She pointed out he ran well and set a new personal best.
“Overall, we’re very happy with how they performed,” she said.
The Mustangs competed in the first race of the day that started at 6:40 a.m.
“It was a very early race,” the coach said. “The weather was amazing. We had first dibs on the trail.”
