The Marble Falls Independent School District athletic department announced a slew of sports camps with head coaches as the directors.

Athletic director and football head coach Keri Timmerman noted the benefits of offering these camps.

Top of the list is campers get to meet and know the coaches.

And coaches instruct the campers on the various drills and teach them the techniques, footwork and skills they teach their varsity athletes.

Timmerman has called these interactions “invaluable” to the program.

“We’re trying to get kids out there catching and enjoying football,” he said. “They’re catching and throwing the ball. It’s fundamental stuff that’s fun.”

Camps also allow coaches to meet parents and build relationships with families.
