The Faith Academy of Marble Falls football players were bestowed several awards for outstanding performances during the 2025 season.
Class 3A coaches of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools released their all-state selections.
Named to the first team are sophomore running back Landon Silvers and senior linebacker Andrew Houy.
Houy was named to the offensive second team as a spread back, while junior defensive back Price Rosamond was named to the second team. Senior defensive lineman Adam Merlick and sophomore defensive back Egan Barnes were named honorable mention.
“I thought Landon and Andrew had a really good shot at it, and I thought Price had an outside chance at doing it,” head coach Jay Silvers said. “But when we started comparing stats and everything that was brought in on Adam and Egan – those were two good surprises that I was happy with.”
Silvers presented season stats and team record. But what also helped, he said, is that coaches were familiar with each Flame before he started talking. They examined the number of quarters and how many games a team plays.
He noted only two running backs in Class 3A were chosen and his son was one of them.
“So we have a good idea of what kind of player they are during game situations,” the coach said. “You want to do right by the kids and what they did during the season. We also talked about each one and made sure we put them in the right spot that we feel they deserve this. This is where they need to be.”
As for the all-district teams, the Flames, who repeated as Division II, District 4 champions, were led there by Houy, who was named the district’s Most Valuable Player, and Landon Silvers, who is the district’s Offensive Most Valuable Player.
First team offensive players are center Sawyer Jones, receiver Merlick and spread back Houy, who are all seniors, junior utility back Wade Dillard and running back Silvers.
First team defensive players are Barnes, Houy, Merlick and Rosamond.
Second team offensive members are sophomore receiver Graham McGraw and senior kicker Ben Strmiska, and sophomore defensive back Madden Kinnee is a second team member.
Honorable mention to went to senior linebacker Colten Lane and sophomore defensive linemen Ronin Burns and Quinton Merlick.
Jay Silvers noted there wasn’t much conversation during the coaches’ meeting when all-district selections were made.
“We had forty-fived (mercy-ruled) the teams,” he said. “We only gave up 24 points total in the district. All the guys were basically ‘all right, here’s where you need to put your guys. Where do you feel like they need to be?’ And I wanted to be honest with them – here’s what I saw. The other district coaches were very complimentary of the team, and they’re like ‘this kid needs to be here, this kid needs to be here, put this one here,’ so it’s good.”
Faith posted an 11-2 overall record.
They did all of that under Jay Silvers’ guidance, who was named the district’s Coach of the Year.
“That’s what I do – I coach these boys and really, I only got it because of them,” he said. “So if it wasn’t for the boys — the way they played this year and the hard work they put in and trusting me and trusting (defensive coordinator Garrett) Cole — none of that happens without them.”
