The Burnet High School girls athletic department announced the selection of several members of the 2026 class to academic all-state lists of the Texas High School Coaches Association, the largest such organization in the country.
Seven are members of the track and field program.
Wrigley Mulhollan was named to the first team. Second team members are Journey Denton, Josie McDavid and Asah Roy and honorable mention went to Kalani Marks, Ava “Landri” Painter-Lewis and Carlee Williams.
“We are extremely proud of their dedication and hard work in the classroom over the past four years,” head coach Crystal Shipley said. “This is a prestigious honor, and these young ladies have truly earned it. Please join me in congratulating them on this outstanding achievement.”
Softball head coach Jayci Craig also announced which of her seniors were chosen by THSCA.
Peyton Allen and Denton were named to the second team, while manager Kristine Rodriguez, Carlee Williams and Kendall Winkley were honorable mention.

Craig noted chosen seniors maintained a 92 or better cumulative grade point average throughout their four years, are in good standing with the team, and possess good moral character.
She added that she is proud of her players for meeting high ideals and principles.
“Please help me congratulate these ladies, as it is an impressive achievement and a testament to the dedication they have made to their academic and athletic careers,” Craig said.
These honors continued for some of these Lady Dawgs. Mulhollan was a first team all-state selection and Allen and Denton were named to the second team as volleyball players last fall along with teammates Grace and Sarah Cullison, who were named to the second team all by THSCA.
Allen, Mulhollan and the Cullison twins were named academic all-state by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches at the end of the 2025-26 season.
Shipley, who also serves as the girls athletic coordinator and volleyball head coach, pointed out these Lady Dawgs have hit a standard of excellence as student-athletes that exemplify it’s possible to achieve in the classroom and in sports.
“We are truly blessed with the amazing leadership of these seniors,” she said. “They have stepped up time and time again to lead by example for this program for four years and will truly be missed.”
