Mustangs’ stolen bases lead the way to another victory

The Marble Falls High School baseball team defeated Llano 10-3 April 23 in a non-district contest. “It was another defensive game,” Mustangs head coach Tyler Porter said. “It’s hard to play bad baseball when you play good defense. Our pitchers threw strikes and our defense backed them up.” Senior pitcher Jake Becker picked up the win. Mustangs’ defense paves the way for shutout win over Grizzlies

The Marble Falls High School baseball team played its most complete game in a 7-0 win against Leander Glenn April 22. The Mustangs (7-13, 3-9 District 25-5A) scored four runs in the first inning and three in the second for the victory. The golf season for Marble Falls High School ended at the Class 5A Region IV tournament April 18-21. Maddie DeBerard finished 15th in the girls division thanks to scoring 80-83–163, good enough for all-region honorable mention. Blake Turner shot an 83-76–159 to finish tied for 24th in the boys division, while teammate Coby Holley had an 86-82–168 to tie for 43rd. The Faith Academy of Marble Falls baseball team battled some early adversity against Bryan Allen Academy for a 15-0 win April 14. The Flames (6-2, 4-0 Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools) needed four innings to enact the run rule and got another stellar pitching performance from sophomore Kade Shaw. Granite FC Elite, a soccer team featuring players who are under the age of 15, won the South Texas Cup championship April 9-10, which advances the squad to the South Texas Cup Finals at the end of the month. Granite FC finished the South Texas Cup with a 3-0 record.
