The Burnet High School boys and girls track and field teams were third at the District 19-4A meet April 6-7. The Bulldogs earned 96 points, while the Lady Dawgs had 106 points. The boys team was paced by the efforts of middle distance runners Hudson Bennett, who earned gold medals in the 1,600 meters in 4 minutes 33.04 seconds and 3,200 meters in 10:21.08 and a silver in the 800 meters in 2:02.30. A new track at Marble Falls Middle School’s Pony Stadium and resurfacing of the courts at the Charlie and Nancy Herrington Tennis Center at Marble Falls High School means those facilities won’t be available to the public for a few weeks. The removal of the old track at MFMS, 1511 Pony Circle Drive, began April 4. Resurfacing at the tennis center is expected to be completed toward the end of April.
