Two weeks remain in the high school baseball regular season and Burnet and Marble Falls are neck and neck in the District 24-4A standings. Meanwhile, the Burnet Lady Dawgs are on the verge of adding their fourth district crown this school year, while the Llano Yellow Jackets took another step toward adding Districk 5-3A title No. 5. The Marble Falls High School boys golf team is the District 24-4A runner-up now that the tournament finished April 3-4 to qualify for the Class 4A Region III tournament. The Mustang Gold team of Kolton Pannell, Coby Holley, Porter Vinson, Bode Moss and Ross Oelschleger shot a two-day total of 654. What a week for the Marble Falls Mustangs. It began with a second place finish at the Division 2 state meet March 24 for Xavier Lopez and ended with a pair of district titles in golf and tennis. Saying the Faith Academy of Marble Falls athletics department experienced a banner year in 2021-22 doesn’t begin to describe the success. The Flames were undefeated in district play en route to titles in football, basketball, baseball and track and field. They repeated as the Class 2A state track and field champions.
