An unseeded Longhorns softball team showed plenty of one of the mottoes of the university — Texas fight — in beating Big 12 foe Oklahoma State in back-to-back contests June 6 to advance to the NCAA Division I national championship series. The Burnet High School softball team quickly dispatched of Lampasas on March 8, winning 9-0. Head coach Hailey Wooten noted the Lady Dawgs (15-3) led 3-0 through six innings and then erupted for six runs in the seventh inning. The Burnet High School softball team started its home tournament by going 3-0 on March 3. The varsity defeated Lago Vista 15-3 in the night cap and began the day with a 13-1 win against Wimberley.
