The Johnson City High School baseball team will play Granger for a bi-district championship in a best-of-three series in Lago Vista that begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 4. Game two is at 5 p.m. Friday, May 5, and game three, if necessary, follows the second contest. “I wanted to do a doubleheader on day one,” Eagles head coach Steven Shipley said. “It’s a one seed versus a four seed. The Johnson City High School baseball team continues to rule District 28-2A thanks to another sweep. This one came at Junction’s expense with a 9-0 win April 17 and a 23-15 victory April 14. The Next Level boys select basketball team was within seconds of a earning one of the program’s biggest wins. Instead a charging call allowed nationally-known Sky High, a squad consisting of players 16 and younger, to escape with a 44-41 win last weekend.
