Being a member of another prestigious crew is paying off for the Marble Falls High School football program. Known as the 1,000-pound club, players become members if their weight totals in the incline bench, bench press, squat and power clean add up to 1,000 pounds. The 2022 Burnet High School football coaching staff will have some new faces after familiar coaches left to climb the coaching ladder. Two new hires at Burnet are Colton Brewer, who will be the quarterbacks coach, and Trevor Couch, who will be the receivers coach. The Llano High School 7-on-7 team posted a 2-1 record at the Burnet state qualifying tournament May 28. The Yellow Jackets defeated Brownwood 12-6 and Somerset 15-13 before losing to Lorena 19-6.
